We should have written this letter a long time ago, but it is hard to put true perfection into words... Joan Philpott was absolutely outstanding in guiding us to find our dream home in Gold Canyon, Arizona and we would highly recommend her to anyone looking to purchase a property! My husband Allan and I had never been to Arizona before and Al’s co-worker suggested we contact his mother as she lives there and may know of a Realtor. Joan’s name was given to us and we emailed her last January asking her if she could help us on our home search. When I first spoke Joan by phone she was very easy to talk to and was delighted to work with us. Even before we actually came down she sent us home listing comps, recommended reading material and websites to help educate us on purchasing a home in Arizona. We were there for only 2 weeks in March/April, so Joan had a huge task on her hands as we knew little about purchasing in the USA and where and what type of retirement home we wanted for our 6 month winter stays. We can’t possibly explain how Joan went out of her way to show us properties in different areas, detached and townhomes including short sales and foreclosures to get us to a place we were comfortable in making our final purchase. Her wealth of knowledge and passion for real estate is astonishing! The truly remarkable thing is her expertise didn’t stop when we put in our offer. She followed our short sale purchase from April 10th until July 20th, with weekly updates answering all the questions we had, and even lifting our hopes when we felt our offer was never going to be accepted by the lending companies. When we finally got possession Joan came through for us again! We were unable to get down for the home inspection and she was there on our behalf to go over everything. Joan worked with the previous owners to rent the home back from us for a couple of months until they relocated getting all the documentation together and signed. Joan also recommended a company for Home Insurance, arranged termite inspection, Home Warranty Insurance and roofing repairs to be done! Working with Joan was truly an amazing experience and much more than just helping us find our dream home in beautiful Arizona. Joan was also our tour guide, educating us on the plant life and the desert regions, historical places to explore, local attractions and even eating establishments! She helped make all the decisions we made an incredibly happy experience and we can’t thank her enough for everything she has done. We would like to take this opportunity to offer our comments on our recent home search and purchase of our property at Terravita. It was our good fortune that Joan Philpott introduced herself to us last season while we were renting in Terravita. Although we were not yet committed to this area, Joan made every effort to keep us informed about properties for sale and showed us several listings in and around Scottsdale.
